You may have heard this little fabel, however, it never loses its magic:
There was an old Indian Chief talking with his young grandson. He explained to his grandson that within the mind there lives two wolves šŗ and these two wolves are always in constant battle with each other.
One wolf only ever focuses on the negative, revelling in all that has, can and will go wrong š©
While the other wolf focuses on the positive, always looking for the joy in even the smallest of things š .
The little grandson asked, ‘which wolf wins the battle?’
To which the grandfather replied, ‘the one you feed the most!’
It’s a great little story to recall when pulled into those negative rumination loops. A reminder to take a breath and intentionally break that unhelpful, energy sapping cycle.
